My love for Photography started when I was a kid growing up in Rio in the 80s. I remember my dad using a little 35mm point-and-shoot for family pictures, and then eagerly waiting to get them developed. Finally we would put them in photo albums, which amazingly still exist. Those pictures are priceless for me and I love being able to hold them and flip through their pages.

As a teenager, I started buying cheap disposable cameras, taking photos of friends and the occasional (very underexposed) landscape. There was something so pure and free about shooting those terrible cameras. The grainy images mean more than most of my phone's camera roll.

Many years later, after moving to a scenic part of Northern California, my interest for photography was rekindled by the beautiful landscape around me. I was drawn back to analog formats and vintage cameras. I thought to myself, how can I bring back that feeling of being a kid and holding a memory in my hand? How can I share this feeling with others? It’s the feeling of looking through grandma's old polaroids, or watching mom’s VHS wedding video.

In the already Ai saturated world, we need a resurgence of the classic mediums, and the feelings they evoke. I'm taking a step back to a simpler time and that's the essense of Velvet Frame. I would love to capture this same experience for you, so you can hold your priceless moments and relive them for generations to come.
